Heating Repair
AAA Northgate One Hour Heating & Air: Peoria, East Peoria, Bloomington and Pekin’s Most Trusted Heating Repair Contractor
Comfort All Year Long
Whether your unit is a furnace, a boiler or a heat pump, we have all the tools and knowledge needed to get the job done correctly the first time. Our technicians are always ready to diagnose your Illinois home’s comfort problems and provide an effective solution for your heater repair needs.
If you are in need of furnace repair, your heating system is likely experiencing a mechanical problem. No matter if there’s an issue power getting to the system, failed parts or problems with the blower, our highly trained technicians can repair it.
Boiler repairs are a little different from furnace repairs, because their problems aren’t typically mechanical. The problem could be water-based or machine-based. We’ll ask plenty of questions about what’s happening (or not happening) with your heating system and do some testing before determining the issue and solving the problem.
Working with AAA Northgate

Call us in when there’s…
There’s No Pilot Light or Ignition on Your Furnace
If the furnace won’t light, or if it lights but fails again after you’ve checked your owner’s manual and followed the instructions posted inside the furnace cabinet, get in touch with us.
There’s Not Enough Heat
If your furnace runs, but doesn’t provide enough heat, make sure nothing is blocking the flow of warm air, that the heating registers are open, and that the thermostat is set properly. Check the filter, and replace it if it’s dirty. If these steps don’t fix your problem, your blower may not be working properly or your system is out of balance.
The Unit Is Constant Cycling On & Off
This could be a problem with the thermostat, the filter, the flame sensor or the blower.
There’s No Moving Air
If the furnace motor runs but there’s no air moving, the belt that connects the two could be broken.
The Air Is Constantly Moving
A blower that runs all the time could indicate a problem with the thermostat or the limit switch.
The Furnace is Making Weird Noises
Grinding or squealing noises when the blower runs could indicate problems with the motor bearings or the belt between the motor and the blower.
IMPORTANT: Is There a Gas Leak?
If you suspect a gas leak, do not light any matches or turn any switches on or off. Turn off the gas supply valve, located by your gas meter on the gas inlet pipe. If the gas odor is strong, evacuate the building, leaving the door open. Call your gas utility or fire department once you are outside the house and don’t go back in until you know it’s safe.

FAQs
SHOULD I REPAIR OR REPLACE MY FURNACE?
When your furnace starts to act up, you will likely need a repair. However, sometimes the repair costs the same amount as a replacement, so replacing the furnace may be a better option. Our experienced heating specialists can evaluate your furnace to determine what’s wrong and what needs to be repaired. If they think a replacement might be more cost-effective, they’ll let you know.
HOW CAN I PREVENT SMALL REPAIRS FROM BECOMING BIG REPAIRS?
Staying on top of maintenance and repairs can extend the lifespan of your furnace. If you have a furnace that always needs repairs, our heating specialists can evaluate the problem to see if it’s an indicator of a larger issue. Also, regular maintenance will keep your furnace clean and efficient and may prevent repairs from being needed at all!
HOW DO I KNOW MY FURNACE NEEDS REPAIRING?
One of the most prominent signs your furnace needs repairing is when it’s not giving you the warm air you need. If your furnace isn’t blowing warm air, you may need to repair or replace your air filters, circuit breaker, heating unit, or thermostat. Loud noises like whistling, rattling, banging, and squeaking are abnormal and should be addressed. If your system is frequently cycling on and off on its own, you could have an airflow problem. On the other hand, if your system is continuously running, your unit may not be running as efficiently as it could be.
